Paper Submission

  • Papers will be submitted online via the conference website. Papers sent via e-mail and mail will not be accepted.

    Deadline of Abstract Submission: 15 August 2020

    The language of the conference is English and Turkish. Participants who want to submit their papers in Turkish should submit their abstracts in both Turkish and English.

    Papers to be presented at the conference should be original, contribute to scientific development to the field of urbanization and shed light on the main problems in the field. Authors are responsible for grammar and spelling mistakes.

    1. Abstracts will be collected via online submission system
    2. Authors MUST include their academic titles.
    3. Names should be written in lowercase letters with only the first letter uppercase.

    i.e. Title Author Name-Surname

    1. Authors should mention name of their institutions and its address

    i.e. X University Faculty of Architecture, X Department, Cankaya/Ankara

    1. Only the first letters of words in the abstract title should be capitalized. (Abbreviations are exceptions.)

    i.e. Urbanization and Quality of Life

    1. If an abbreviation is used in the abstract, the full name of the abbreviation should be specified in parentheses
    2. Abstracts should briefly include the purpose of the study and the methods used; and the findings should be summarized with sufficient numerical details and the results should be explained within the framework of the presented findings.
    3. In the abstracts it should be written with purpose, method, findings and conclusion headings
  • For Abstracts in Turkish:

    The abstract should be a minimum of 500 words, excluding the title, author’s name and surname, and should not exceed 750 words. Abstracts below or above these limits are not accepted by the system. A minimum limit of 500 words and a maximum of 750 words have been introduced so that the referees can better evaluate the abstracts.

  • For abstracts in English:

    The abstract should be a minimum of 500 words, excluding the title, author’s name and surname, and should not exceed a maximum of 1000 words. Abstracts below or above these limits are not accepted by the system. A minimum limit of 500 words and a maximum of 1000 words have been introduced so that the referees can better evaluate abtracts.

    1. Bibliography should not be included in the abstracts. Therefore, abstracts should not have in-text citations.
    2. Author information, title and keywords should not be entered in the abstract text. Keywords should be entered in the keywords section with a comma and a space between them.
    3. In order for the papers to be accepted, they must not have been published elsewhere or presented at another congress, symposium or scientific organization.
    4. The abstracts should not include figures, tables, formulas, and pictures.

  • Evaluation Process

    The abstracts uploaded to the system will be evaluated by the Executing Committee and the Scientific Committee and it will be decided whether they are accepted for the presentation.

    The abstracts sent to the system between 15 August 2020 and 04 September 2020 will be evaluated and the results will be notified to the authors by e-mail.

    Acceptance process of the papers that will be presented at the congress will be carried out through abstracts. In order for the accepted abstracts by the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee to be included in the congress program, authors have to REGISTER the congress.

    An “Acceptance and Invitation Letter” will be sent to those who register on the conference registration page. Authors can submit the letter to their institutions to participate in the conference.

    Accepted abstracts that included in the conference program will be published in the form of “Urbanization and Quality of Life Paper Abstract Booklet” in an electronic format. A hard-copy version of the booklet will be delivered to the authors.
